Grill Repair
On a Coyote call, the tech clears the firebox of grease and debris before judging a weak burner, since a clogged tray can mimic a gas problem.

Coyote grills,
specifically.
Coyote Outdoor Living covers more kinds of grill than most makes in its price class: C-Series, CL-Series and SL-Series gas heads, a pellet grill in 28 and 36-inch sizes, a stainless gas-and-charcoal hybrid, and carts for them. The SL adds a rear infrared burner and a Rapid Sear infrared burner. We confirm the model before anything else, because a Coyote visit may be about a gas valve, a pellet auger or a touchscreen.

to Coyote.
We work on Coyote C-Series (C3C30, C3C34), CL-Series (C3CL36, C3CL42) and SL-Series (C3SL30, C3SL36, C3SL42) gas grills, the C1P and C2P pellet grills and the C3HY50 hybrid, built in or on Coyote carts. Knob lights, thermocouple valves and sear burners depend on the series.
Thermocouple valves on the CL and SL
CL and SL grills have safety valves with thermocouples on the main and rear burners, so the knob has to be held in for six to ten seconds after the burner catches. A burner that dies the moment the knob is released usually has a thermocouple that is not heating, and we check its position and cleanliness first.
A spring-loaded spark in the valve
Turning a Coyote knob winds a spring inside the valve that fires the igniter with a click. Coyote warns that turning too fast leaves the spark ahead of the gas and turning too slowly lets gas build up, so the way the knob is turned matters before any part is suspected.
A pellet grill run from a touchscreen
The Coyote pellet grill feeds pellets with an electric auger into a burner pot lit by a heating element, with two fans moving heat and smoke. Its screen shows status icons and alarms rather than numbered codes, and its settings sit behind a four-digit password.
Sear burners you can add, two at most
Main burners on the CL and SL can be exchanged for sear burners, but Coyote allows no more than two in any size of grill. When we find three, or a sear burner without its thermocouple clipped in place, that is corrected before anything else.
Parts
Coyote parts follow the series and size of the grill, and the pellet grill manuals number each part, from the auger to the temperature probe (C1P00005). The model plate is read before anything is ordered, since C-Series, CL and SL heads differ inside.
Repair or replace
Valves, thermocouples, burners and transformers on a Coyote gas grill are routine repairs. On the pellet grill, repeated jams usually come down to pellets, the burner pot or the auger, all of which can be fixed; a controller that stops responding is the larger decision, and we rule out power and wiring before calling it.
