A large stainless built-in gas grill head set into a stone island on a sunny patio, its hood raised to show three burners glowing with even blue flame under clean stainless grates, the knob panel below with knobs, the access doors under the grill closed, plants softly blurred behind, daylight, seasonless.

Sedona by Lynx visits usually trace a burner that heats one side of the grate more than the other; the tech maps the hot and cool spots first.

Sedona by Lynx grills,
specifically.

Sedona by Lynx is the Lynx line built around stainless steel tube burners and spark ignition, in L500, L600 and L700 sizes for an island or a freestanding cart. When a Sedona will not light, we listen for the clicking and look for the spark at each electrode before anything else.

Error codesSedona grills have no display or coded lights; Lynx describes the signal as sound, a rapid clicking with a visible spark at each electrode when a knob is pushed in. No clicking points to the 9-volt battery, the power or the wiring.

What is particular
to Sedona by Lynx.

We service Sedona by Lynx L500, L600 and L700 grills and their L501, L601 and L701 versions, with or without ProSear and rotisserie, built-in or on the cart. The PS or PSR suffix tells us whether a ProSear or a rotisserie burner is part of the visit.

A 9-volt battery behind the spark

Sedona grills carry a standard 9V battery under the control panel as backup power for the electronic ignition. A silent igniter on a grill whose lights still work often comes down to that battery or a loose connection.

The electrode gap

Lynx asks for about 1/8 inch between the Sedona ignition electrodes. A gap knocked out of line during cleaning can leave one burner clicking without catching while its neighbors light normally.

ProSear on PS models

PS and PSR models add a ProSear infrared burner beside the tube burners, and it has no manual lighting tube. Lynx wants it preheated until it glows red, because drippings on a cold ProSear can clog its tiny ports.

Wind damage left uncovered

Lynx leaves damage from windy use, such as melted knobs, igniter wires or a discolored panel, out of Sedona coverage. On a Sedona with a scorched panel we check the igniter wiring first.

Parts

Sedona burners, electrodes and briquette trays are matched to the model on the rating plate, found on the underside of the drip tray. ProSear and rotisserie parts apply only to the PS and PSR models.

Repair or replace

Ignition, burner and valve work is usually worth doing on a Sedona. When the tube burners and the firebox have both rusted through on an older head, pricing a new grill makes sense.

Questions about
Sedona by Lynx grills.

Why is my Sedona grill not clicking when I push the knob?
Lynx says to check the electrical connections and try a fresh 9-volt battery. With power confirmed, the next check is the gap between the electrodes.
How far apart should the Sedona igniter electrodes be?
About 1/8 inch. A wider or narrower gap can leave a burner clicking without lighting.
Does a Sedona grill need an outlet to light?
Lynx asks for a 120V GFI outlet for the lights and rotisserie, while the 9-volt battery backs up the ignition. A dead battery and no power leave the igniters silent.
Can I light the Sedona ProSear with the lighting rod?
The ProSear has no manual lighting tube like the tube burners. Follow the ProSear steps in the Sedona manual and preheat it until it glows red before cooking.
