Grill repair in Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay grills on lanais, pool decks and waterfront patios nearly every month, and salt air, humidity and summer storms wear burners, grates and igniters faster than they would inland. Frequent summer lightning can take out grill lights and pellet controllers. Before a hurricane the tank is closed and the grill secured, and afterward it stays unlit until the burners and hose are dry and checked.

What Tampa Bay does
to a grill.

Hillsborough County banned all outdoor open burning by emergency order on January 15, 2026, and a constantly attended barbecue grill used for cooking was one of the few exceptions.

Fire pits, fireworks and sparklers were outlawed under that order, while grilling stayed legal as long as the flames were contained within a grill.

Each emergency order could last no more than seven days, so the county kept renewing the ban through the spring into late May 2026.

Grill rules differ by park in Hillsborough County's conservation system: the Upper Tampa Bay Trail lists barbecue grills among its amenities, while Lettuce Lake Conservation Park does not permit propane or gas grills.

The counties

A second grill or smoker

A household running a gas grill and a pellet grill side by side sometimes plugs the pellet grill into an outlet shared with lights or a pump, and a controller that resets mid-cook is traced to that shared outlet before anyone suspects the board.

On the water

Before a hurricane or a coastal storm, a grill by salt water has its tank closed and taken off or its gas shut off, and it is strapped down or moved inside, since wind can throw a cart grill; afterward it stays unlit until checked.

Pool decks and cookouts

A grill built into a counter relies on vents below it to let heat and any stray gas escape, and on these patios a grill whose knobs or control panel run hot is checked for blocked vents as well as for a problem in the grill itself.

What we do

Grill diagnostic visit

A diagnostic visit in Tampa Bay usually starts on a screened lanai or a bayside patio, where the technician lifts the grates, watches how each burner flame stands up to the Gulf breeze and looks into the venturi tubes for the mud daubers that nest there in warm months.

Grill cleaning and safety inspection

A Tampa Bay safety inspection clears webs from the venturi tubes, empties a grease tray that humid weather keeps soft and checks the tank hose for cracks, and after a hurricane it confirms the grill is dry and secure before it is lit.

Grill burner replacement

Humid Gulf air and salt spray eat tube burners from the ports outward, so on Tampa Bay grills a burner often rusts through along its underside within a few seasons, and its replacement is matched to the grill's model plate.

Grill igniter repair

Moisture is the igniter's enemy on a Tampa Bay lanai: a wet electrode lead, a corroded battery contact or a spark module soaked by a summer downpour stops the click, and the repair starts by drying and testing each wire.

Grill valve and regulator repair

Many Tampa Bay grills run on a propane tank, and after a tank swap the regulator's safety device can drop into its low-flow mode and leave every burner weak; the technician resets it the maker's way and checks the valves and hose.

Grill rotisserie and back burner repair

Holiday turkeys and whole chickens keep Tampa Bay rotisseries turning, and humidity corrodes the motor's plug and bracket while the same damp reaches the back burner's igniter lead, so one visit checks both.

Grill heat shield and grate replacement

Tampa Bay's humidity keeps grease damp on heat shields and flavorizer bars, so they rust through sooner than in dry places, and a flare-up that keeps returning is often the sign that a shield has holes and needs replacing.

Grill lights and electronics repair

Tampa Bay's summer lightning and humid nights are hard on knob lights, hood lamps and their transformer, and a light that flickers or dies is traced through the GFCI outlet, the transformer and a corroded socket in turn.

Infrared grill burner repair

Infrared burners dislike moisture, and on a Tampa Bay patio a ceramic radiant that soaked up rain and was lit straight to high can crack; the technician checks the emitter, its screen and the gas flow, and explains a gentle warm-up after wet weather.

Pellet grill auger and controller repair

Humidity is the pellet grill's worst enemy in Tampa Bay: pellets left in the hopper swell into a sawdust paste that jams the auger, and the repair clears the tube, tests the motor and advises emptying the hopper after each cook.
