What UNLOCK
actually means.
Every time the Coyote pellet grill powers up, its display starts locked so a stray touch cannot start the fire or change the setting. Holding the red lock icon in the lower left corner for three seconds turns it green and shows UNLOCK, and then the temperature and start button respond.

Nothing on the grill has failed; the controller is showing a state it was put in on purpose. A shutdown cycle keeps the fan running to burn off the last pellets before the grill goes quiet, a keep-warm setting holds the cook box low, a demo mode lights the display without feeding fuel, and a pairing screen waits for a phone to connect. No part is needed; the button sequence in the manual, or simply letting the cycle finish, returns it to normal.

Look for the icon to turn green with the word UNLOCK, then set your temperature.
If the screen still ignores you, or stays blank while the power button is lit, switch off, unplug for a minute and try again; book a visit if the display still does not answer.

The code is gone from the controller, the grill climbs to its set heat and holds it through a full cook, the pellets keep dropping and the probe readings stay believable, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or after the next rain, mention it when you book.

A locked screen is not a frozen controller, and nothing is wrong with the grill. The four-digit settings password is a separate lock that only guards the settings menu.
