What Temperature Warning
actually means.
The C1P controller judges a start by how far the grill temperature rises. A rise of more than 40°F counts as a good start; if the grill is still short of that after 18 minutes, the screen shows Temperature Warning, because the fire either never caught or went out. The same warning screen also appears if the running temperature later falls by 50°F.

What to do when Temperature Warning shows on the grillKind of codeIgnition
The grill tried to start its fire and the controller never saw it take. On a pellet grill that is usually a hot rod burned out after hundreds of cooks, or a firepot full of ash so the new pellets smother; on a gas grill with electronic ignition it is a spark module, an electrode cracked or set too far from the burner, or a battery gone flat. Emptying the ash once the grill is cold and fitting a fresh battery are fair first steps; the hot rod and the module are a visit.
Usually leads toGrill igniter repair
No spark, a weak spark or a spark in the wrong place: the grill's battery module, piezo button, electrodes, wires and hot-surface igniters tested and fixed.
Shows up asGrill Error Code on a Pellet Controller or Digital Panel
A grill error code shows as letters and numbers on a pellet grill controller, a flashing light on a digital control panel, or an alert in the maker's app paired with the grill.

On a Coyote call, the tech clears the firebox of grease and debris before judging a weak burner, since a clogged tray can mimic a gas problem.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Coyote's own guidance for Temperature Warning on its grills. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Press stop and let the grill finish its cooldown; do not restart on top of unburned pellets.
Once the grill is cold, look in the hopper for damp, swollen pellets or heavy dust and check that the burner pot sits the way the manual shows.
Clear loose pellets from the cold burner pot, refill with dry pellets and start again; book a visit if the warning returns, since the igniter or the auger may not be working.
What not to do
Temperature Warning is not an overheat message; it points to a grill that stayed too cool. It follows the grill sensor, not the meat probes, so a cold probe reading on its own does not trigger it.

In Coyote's own words
if it is under <40F after 18 minutes, a "Temperature Warning" screen will pop up.

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied exactly, the model and serial from the rating label, and a word on whether the grill still lights, heats or feeds pellets. With those three the office can match the likely part to your grill the same day.
