What Calibration failed
actually means.
Before the first cook, a SmartGrill runs a 15 to 20 minute calibration with the hood closed to learn the lowest flame it can hold where it stands. When that run cannot finish, the grill reports the failure and keeps its old settings.

What to do when Calibration failed shows on the grillKind of codeTemperature and probes
A probe is sending the controller a reading it cannot trust, or no reading at all: the grill's own temperature sensor coated in smoke and grease, its lead pinched or melted, or a meat probe unplugged, wet or reading far outside what any cook box could reach. The grill then overshoots, stalls or shuts down to be safe. Wiping the sensor once the grill is cold and reseating the probe in its jack are reasonable steps; a sensor that still reads wrong is a visit.
Usually leads toPellet grill auger and controller repair
Jammed augers, dead hot rods, weak combustion fans, lying probes and failed controllers on pellet grills, traced and replaced with the maker's parts.
Shows up asGrill Error Code on a Pellet Controller or Digital Panel
A grill error code shows as letters and numbers on a pellet grill controller, a flashing light on a digital control panel, or an alert in the maker's app paired with the grill.

A Lynx grill visit opens with the lid raised and every burner lit once, so the tech sees which ports burn blue and which ones sputter.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Lynx's own guidance for Calibration failed on its grills. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Make sure the hood is closed and the gas fully on before starting calibration.
Pick a calm moment, since wind and gusts change the flame the grill is trying to measure.
Run calibration again from the app or by voice; if it fails twice in good conditions, book a visit to check gas pressure and the burners.

What not to do
Calibration failed is not a burner or igniter report on its own. It is also not needed every cook; Lynx asks for it before first use and when conditions around the grill change.

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied exactly, the model and serial from the rating label, and a word on whether the grill still lights, heats or feeds pellets. With those three the office can match the likely part to your grill the same day.
