What Ambient temperature too high
actually means.
This message is about the electronics, not the food. The computer sits in the grill head, and when heat builds up around it, from long high-heat cooks, wind pushing hot air forward, or a hot sunny island, the grill stops and asks to cool down.
Lynx grill display
What to do when Ambient temperature too high shows on the grillKind of codeController and display
The controller itself reported trouble, or stopped answering: a display that flickers or shows segments missing, buttons that no longer respond after rain got behind the panel, a board whose relays stick, or an app that will not keep its connection. A full power cycle, done as the manual describes with the grill cold, clears a passing glitch; a code that returns, or any sign of water behind the display, means a board or a keypad, and that is a visit.
Usually leads toGrill lights and electronics repair
Hood lights, knob lights, transformers, power supplies and digital displays on a grill that have gone dark, flicker or trip the outlet, found and fixed.
Shows up asGrill Error Code on a Pellet Controller or Digital Panel
A grill error code shows as letters and numbers on a pellet grill controller, a flashing light on a digital control panel, or an alert in the maker's app paired with the grill.

A Lynx grill visit opens with the lid raised and every burner lit once, so the tech sees which ports burn blue and which ones sputter.

SmartGrill by Lynx built-in and freestanding heads (SMART30, SMART36, SMART42, with F suffix on the cart versions) speak this line through the grill and send the same text to the app. Lynx Professional and Sedona grills with ordinary knobs have no such messages.
Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Lynx's own guidance for Ambient temperature too high on its grills. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Turn the grill off and leave the hood open so it can cool.
Check for wind blowing into the back of the hood and for anything blocking the vents around a built-in head.
Try again once it is cool; if the message returns on ordinary cooks, book a visit to check the head for heat damage and the controller.

What not to do
Ambient temperature too high does not mean the cooking area is too hot or that the grill thermometer is wrong. It is also not a gas warning, although wind that overheats the electronics also stops the grill from breathing properly.

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied exactly, the model and serial from the rating label, and a word on whether the grill still lights, heats or feeds pellets. With those three the office can match the likely part to your grill the same day.
