What STAND BY
actually means.

Turning on the switch beside the probe jacks brings the pellet grill to its STAND BY screen with SMOKE preselected. From there the owner sets the temperature, a recipe or a timer, and the fire starts only after GO.

What to do when STAND BY shows on the grill

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Twin Eagles's own guidance for STAND BY on its grills. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Unlock the screen by tapping the LOCK button three times quickly.

02

Choose a mode, set the target and tap GO to start the fire.

03

If the grill sits in STAND BY and will not start after GO, turn it off, check the firepot is clear and book a visit if it still does not light.

Cleared?

The code is gone from the controller, the grill climbs to its set heat and holds it through a full cook, the pellets keep dropping and the probe readings stay believable, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or after the next rain, mention it when you book.

What not to do

STAND BY is not an error or a sign the grill has cooled itself down. It is the resting screen after power-on and before a cook starts.

What you may
notice with it.

The grill problem STAND BY tends to arrive with. Answer these at the grill before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Nothing on the grill has failed; the controller is showing a state it was put in on purpose. A shutdown cycle keeps the fan running to burn off the last pellets before the grill goes quiet, a keep-warm setting holds the cook box low, a demo mode lights the display without feeding fuel, and a pairing screen waits for a phone to connect. No part is needed; the button sequence in the manual, or simply letting the cycle finish, returns it to normal.

In Twin Eagles's own words

Questions
about STAND BY.

Can I clear STAND BY myself?
Unlock the screen by tapping the LOCK button three times quickly.
Why does my Twin Eagles pellet grill stay on STAND BY?
It waits there until you unlock the screen, choose a setting and tap GO. The screen starts locked, which is easy to miss.
Is STAND BY the same as Cooldown on a Twin Eagles?
No. Cooldown runs the fan after STOP until the grill reaches 130 degrees inside. STAND BY is the idle screen before a cook.
Does the Twin Eagles feed pellets in STAND BY?
No pellets are fed until a cook starts. To fill the auger, use the PELLET AUGER button in the settings menu.

Back to your everyday

Still showing STAND BY?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied exactly, the model and serial from the rating label, and a word on whether the grill still lights, heats or feeds pellets. With those three the office can match the likely part to your grill the same day.
