What - - - (target temperature)
actually means.
The AIPG display shows a live temperature for each burner zone and a target beside it. Targets and alarms can only be set from the companion phone app, so a grill that is used from the knobs alone shows dashes where the target would be.

What to do when - - - (target temperature) shows on the grillKind of codeMode, not a failure
Nothing on the grill has failed; the controller is showing a state it was put in on purpose. A shutdown cycle keeps the fan running to burn off the last pellets before the grill goes quiet, a keep-warm setting holds the cook box low, a demo mode lights the display without feeding fuel, and a pairing screen waits for a phone to connect. No part is needed; the button sequence in the manual, or simply letting the cycle finish, returns it to normal.
Usually leads toNo repair
Carry on cooking from the knobs if you do not need a target; the dashes do no harm.
Shows up asGrill Error Code on a Pellet Controller or Digital Panel
A grill error code shows as letters and numbers on a pellet grill controller, a flashing light on a digital control panel, or an alert in the maker's app paired with the grill.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Alfresco's own guidance for - - - (target temperature) on its grills. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Carry on cooking from the knobs if you do not need a target; the dashes do no harm.
To set a target or alarm, connect the Alfresco companion app on a compatible phone and choose it there.
If the live zone temperatures are also missing, turn the light switch off and on and book a visit if the display stays blank.
Cleared?
The code is gone from the controller, the grill climbs to its set heat and holds it through a full cook, the pellets keep dropping and the probe readings stay believable, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or after the next rain, mention it when you book.
What not to do
Dashes in the target spot are not a probe or sensor warning. The zone temperatures beside them are separate readings and should still show numbers when the grill is warm.

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied exactly, the model and serial from the rating label, and a word on whether the grill still lights, heats or feeds pellets. With those three the office can match the likely part to your grill the same day.
