What Cooldown Mode
actually means.

Pressing the red STOP button stops the auger and turns the fan to high to burn off what is left in the firepot. The grill stays in Cooldown until it reads 130 degrees F inside, then the fan stops and it is safe to switch off.

What to do when Cooldown Mode shows on the grill

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Twin Eagles's own guidance for Cooldown Mode on its grills. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Leave the hood closed and let the cycle finish.

02

Wait for the fan to stop before turning off the power switch.

03

If the fan never stops or the grill stays hot long after STOP, turn it off at the switch once cool and book a visit.

Cleared?

The code is gone from the controller, the grill climbs to its set heat and holds it through a full cook, the pellets keep dropping and the probe readings stay believable, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or after the next rain, mention it when you book.

What not to do

Cooldown is not a warning, even though the fan gets loud. It is also not meant to be skipped, although an Exit button exists for owners who plan to keep cooking.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Nothing on the grill has failed; the controller is showing a state it was put in on purpose. A shutdown cycle keeps the fan running to burn off the last pellets before the grill goes quiet, a keep-warm setting holds the cook box low, a demo mode lights the display without feeding fuel, and a pairing screen waits for a phone to connect. No part is needed; the button sequence in the manual, or simply letting the cycle finish, returns it to normal.

Questions
about Cooldown Mode.

Can I clear Cooldown Mode myself?
Leave the hood closed and let the cycle finish.
How long does Cooldown take on a Twin Eagles pellet grill?
Until the inside reads 130 degrees F, so a high-heat sear takes longer than a low smoke. The fan shuts off by itself when it is done.
Can I unplug my Twin Eagles pellet grill during Cooldown?
It is better not to. The fan is burning off pellets in the firepot, and cutting it early can leave smoldering fuel.
Why is the Twin Eagles fan so loud after I press STOP?
Cooldown runs the fan on high on purpose. The noise ends when the grill reaches 130 degrees inside.

Still showing Cooldown Mode?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied exactly, the model and serial from the rating label, and a word on whether the grill still lights, heats or feeds pellets. With those three the office can match the likely part to your grill the same day.
