What E10
actually means.

A pellet grill ends every cook with a shutdown cycle that burns off the pellets left in the burn pot while the fan runs. If power is cut before that ends, unburned pellets and ash are left behind, so the controller shows E10 and wants the burn pot cleaned before the next start.

What to do when E10 shows on the grill

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Weber's own guidance for E10 on its grills. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

When the grill is completely cold, clean the burn pot, cookbox and grease tray of ash and leftover pellets.

02

Plug in and start a cook so the controller can run its check.

03

Next time, shut down from the controller and wait for the cycle to end before unplugging.

04

If E10 appears when no one unplugged the grill, book a visit to check the outlet, the cord and the power supply.

What not to do

E10 is not a burnt-out part; it is a record that the last cook ended the wrong way. A grill that trips its outlet on startup is a power problem that should be looked at before the code is cleared.

Questions
about E10.

Can I clear E10 myself?
When the grill is completely cold, clean the burn pot, cookbox and grease tray of ash and leftover pellets. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why did my Weber show E10 after a power outage?
The outage cut the shutdown cycle short, which leaves ash and unburned pellets in the burn pot. Clean it once the grill is cold before the next cook.
Can a GFCI outlet cause E10 on my Weber pellet grill?
Yes. If the outlet trips mid-cook the grill loses power without shutting down. An outlet that keeps tripping needs checking.
Is it bad to unplug my Weber right after cooking?
Weber asks owners not to unplug during the shutdown procedure. Wait until the cycle has finished and the grill has cooled.

Still showing E10?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied exactly, the model and serial from the rating label, and a word on whether the grill still lights, heats or feeds pellets. With those three the office can match the likely part to your grill the same day.
