What Alarm dot and flashing display
actually means.
The Echelon thermometer can sound at a set hood temperature, a set probe temperature and the end of a timer. A dot beside the reading shows the alarm is armed; when the target is reached the display flashes and beeps, and the hood alarm repeats every 10 minutes until it is switched off.
Fire Magic grill display
What to do when Alarm dot and flashing display shows on the grillKind of codeMode, not a failure
Nothing on the grill has failed; the controller is showing a state it was put in on purpose. A shutdown cycle keeps the fan running to burn off the last pellets before the grill goes quiet, a keep-warm setting holds the cook box low, a demo mode lights the display without feeding fuel, and a pairing screen waits for a phone to connect. No part is needed; the button sequence in the manual, or simply letting the cycle finish, returns it to normal.
Usually leads toNo repair
Press any of the four buttons to silence the alarm.
Shows up asGrill Error Code on a Pellet Controller or Digital Panel
A grill error code shows as letters and numbers on a pellet grill controller, a flashing light on a digital control panel, or an alert in the maker's app paired with the grill.

Fire Magic owners usually describe a burner that lights late or not at all; our visit starts by timing that delay at each knob.

Echelon Diamond gas grills with the touch-panel digital thermometer (E660i, E790i, E1060i and their portable s versions). The EL500i electric grill shows the same reading on its own display; Aurora and Choice grills with a dial thermometer show nothing.
Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Fire Magic's own guidance for Alarm dot and flashing display on its grills. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Press any of the four buttons to silence the alarm.
To stop the hood alarm repeating, press and hold SET and the up arrow until the dot disappears.
If the display flashes and beeps with no alarm set, turn the thermometer off and on, then book a visit if it continues.
Cleared?
The code is gone from the controller, the grill climbs to its set heat and holds it through a full cook, the pellets keep dropping and the probe readings stay believable, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or after the next rain, mention it when you book.
What not to do
A flashing display with a beep is not a warning from the grill. It is a timer or temperature alarm the owner, or the default setting of 450 degrees F, has armed.

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code copied exactly, the model and serial from the rating label, and a word on whether the grill still lights, heats or feeds pellets. With those three the office can match the likely part to your grill the same day.
