Failed parts are replaced with the maker's own, the controller's firmware updated where the maker publishes it, and the grill runs through a full start and a steady hold before the visit ends. Some swing is normal as the controller feeds in bursts. Wide swings usually come from a dirty or failing probe, damp or poor pellets, a firepot choked with ash, wind across the grill, or a weak fan.
