Diagnostic fee ### Grill diagnostic visit One visit to find why the grill will not light, heat or hold its flame: gas supply, burners, igniters, valves and any controller, each checked. Cost: low to moderate ### Grill burner replacement Rusted, split or blocked grill burners cleared or replaced, their venturi necks freed of webs and nests, and every flame set blue and even. Cost: low ### Grill igniter repair No spark, a weak spark or a spark in the wrong place: the grill's battery module, piezo button, electrodes, wires and hot-surface igniters tested and fixed. Cost: low to moderate ### Grill valve and regulator repair Stiff, leaking or unshuttable grill valves, worn knobs, tired regulators and cracked hoses replaced, with gas orifices matched to propane or natural gas. Cost: moderate ### Infrared grill burner repair Cracked ceramic tiles, clogged mesh screens and sear burners that light late or glow in patches, replaced and set to the grill maker's figures. Cost: low to moderate ### Grill rotisserie and back burner repair A rotisserie motor that will not turn, a dragging spit, or a back burner that stays dark: motor, bushings, spit and rear infrared burner fixed. Cost: low to moderate ### Grill heat shield and grate replacement Collapsed flavorizer bars, cracked briquettes, rusted heat plates, warped grates and a failing grease tray replaced so heat spreads and drippings drain. Cost: moderate ### Pellet grill auger and controller repair Jammed augers, dead hot rods, weak combustion fans, lying probes and failed controllers on pellet grills, traced and replaced with the maker's parts. Cost: low to moderate ### Grill lights and electronics repair Hood lights, knob lights, transformers, power supplies and digital displays on a grill that have gone dark, flicker or trip the outlet, found and fixed. Cost: lowest ### Grill cleaning and safety inspection A deep grill cleaning with the burners out, venturi tubes cleared, grease path scraped, gas supply leak-checked and every flame read before the season. Weigh the repair against what a new grill of the same class would really cost you, delivered, set in place, connected to its gas and checked, not only its catalog price. A built-in head also brings the question of whether a new one fits the old cutout, which often decides the matter in favor of repair. Burners, igniters, heat shields, a regulator and a cleaning are small next to a new grill, and a valve or a controller is usually still worth it. Where it tips the other way is a firebox or hood rotted through, or a grill so old its parts are no longer made; then the technician writes out both sums and the call is yours. Which grill service do I pick? Choose the diagnostic visit and describe what the flame, the igniter, the heat or the pellet feed is doing. Matching that to one of the jobs on this page is our work, once the grill has been lit in front of the technician, and nothing is quoted or ordered before then. ### The igniter and a burner both failed. Can one grill visit cover both? Usually, and on a grill one failure often explains the next: a burner rusted at its ports throws the flame away from the electrode, so the spark keeps snapping without catching. Each repair is priced on its own and you can approve one, both or neither. ### Where can I see what these grill repairs cost? Swapping an igniter battery on a cart grill and replacing the valve manifold behind a built-in grill head's control panel are very different amounts of work. The cost page puts those jobs in order from light to heavy, and the diagnosis tells you where yours lands. ### Does the technician carry grill parts, or come back? Electrodes, spark modules, hoses and regulators, thermocouples, meat probes and some universal burners often ride on the truck, and a model and serial in the booking raise the odds.
