# Book a grill repair visit.

One short form books a grill visit, with no card details asked. You pay nothing until a technician has lit your grill and set out the repair for you.

## What the form asks, and why.

What you write is read before the truck leaves, so the igniter, burner, valve or probe your grill needs has a better chance of already being on board. Sending it commits you to nothing, and no figure is named before the cause is found.

### Step one The grill and its trouble

Built-in grill head, cart grill, infrared or sear grill, or pellet or hybrid grill; the make; propane or natural gas; and whether it will not light, sparks without catching, burns low or yellow, heats one side, flares, stops feeding pellets, swings in heat, stalls the rotisserie or shows a code. That tells us who comes and which igniters, burners, valves and probes to load.

### Step two A day and a half-day slot

Morning or afternoon, ideally a day when the grill has not been used for a few hours and the grates are cool.

### Step three Reaching the grill

Where the grill stands (patio, deck, balcony, rooftop, pool deck), whether it runs off a tank or a gas line and where the shutoff is, whether it plugs in for lights, a rotisserie or a controller, and a phone for the day. A gate code, a dog in the yard, building access for a terrace: each one saves time.

### The gas and the grill, checked first

The technician checks the tank or the gas line, the regulator and the hose before anything is lit, then lights each burner in turn and watches the flame, the ignition and the heat across the grate. Grates, heat shields and burners come out only in the technician's hands, with the gas closed and the grill cool enough to work on.

### What failed, and what it costs

At the grill, the technician names the part that failed, rusted or clogged and its price in the same breath, and orders nothing until you agree. If a new grill is the better use of the money, you hear that plainly as well.

### Parts on the truck

Igniter electrodes, spark modules and batteries, hoses and regulators, thermocouples, common probes and universal burner parts often travel with us. A burner set, a valve manifold, a rotisserie motor, a pellet controller or a heat shield sized to one firebox is ordered; put the serial in the booking and that order may be moving before we arrive.

### Lit before we leave

With the part fitted and the grates back, every burner is lit while you watch: a clean blue flame at each port, the igniter catching on the first try, the heat even from end to end, the rotisserie turning or the pellet grill climbing to its setting and holding it.

### After gas, fire or flashback, keep it closed

After a gas smell, a grease fire that would not settle, flame behind the knobs or a knob that would not shut off, do not light the grill again to test it. Keep the gas closed at the tank or the shutoff and wait for us.

### Note the code and the conditions

A code on the controller, a burner that only fails in wind, flames that turn yellow after a new tank, a pellet grill that stalls on humid days: write it down or take a photo. The make and model beside it double its value.

### Let it cool and clear the space

Take the cover off, let the grates cool, empty the grease tray if it is full, and move chairs, planters and spare tanks back from the grill. It also helps to recall what came just before: a long winter, a new tank or hose, a gas conversion, a big cook that flared, a storm.

## Questions about booking.

### Is there a charge to request a grill visit?

No. Requesting a visit is free and no card is taken ahead of time. No burner, igniter or valve goes in until you have heard what failed, what it costs, and agreed.

### Where is the rating label on a grill?

On most built-in grill heads it is a metal tag that pulls out from under the control panel, or a plate on the inside of the lower front. Cart grills often carry it inside the cart door or on the back of the frame, and pellet grills on the side or back of the hopper. If finding it means lying on the patio with a flashlight, skip it; the technician copies it on arrival.

### Can I book the grill repair by phone?

Yes. Our number and office hours sit at the top of every page. The phone and the form reach the same team, and on a busy Saturday before a holiday the form is often answered first.

### What if my grill is not worth repairing?

You hear it at the grill, with the reasons, before any part is ordered. A firebox rusted through on a budget cart grill and a worn igniter on a heavy stainless grill head lead to opposite answers, and the visit is how we find out which you have.
