Most traditional gas grills show no codes at all: they have knobs, valves and a spark. Codes come from grills with electronics that watch the cook. Pellet and hybrid grills report a fire that failed to light, a chamber that cooled too far, a probe that reads open, an auger that stalled or a fan that stopped. Premium gas heads with digital controls, and grills that connect to a phone, report ignition that did not catch, a flame lost, a temperature sensor out of line and power interruptions.
