Weber grill display What to do when E5 shows on the grill ### Kind of code Temperature and probes A probe is sending the controller a reading it cannot trust, or no reading at all: the grill's own temperature sensor coated in smoke and grease, its lead pinched or melted, or a meat probe unplugged, wet or reading far outside what any cook box could reach. The grill then overshoots, stalls or shuts down to be safe. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why did my Weber Searwood show E5 during a high-heat sear? Grease left from earlier low-temperature cooks can ignite once the grill climbs to searing heat.
