In SEAR PLATE mode the grill runs at HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW with the briquette tray in place. When the target is reached, a READY icon appears so you know it is time to put food on the center grate. A shutdown cycle keeps the fan running to burn off the last pellets before the grill goes quiet, a keep-warm setting holds the cook box low, a demo mode lights the display without feeding fuel, and a pairing screen waits for a phone to connect. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Wait for READY before you open the hood and put food on. 02 Sear over the center grate, where the briquette tray sits. 03 If READY never appears after a long preheat, check the hopper and firepot; book a visit if the grill still cannot reach the setting. ### Cleared? The code is gone from the controller, the grill climbs to its set heat and holds it through a full cook, the pellets keep dropping and the probe readings stay believable, all without a new part.
