On a DCS Series 9 grill, a dial ring glowing white shows that the hood lights are switched on or that another burner on the grill is in use. It is a status light, not a warning, and it does not mean that dial's own burner is lit: DCS keeps orange for a burner with gas flowing. DCS grill display · also shown as White bezel light What to do when Dial light white shows on the grill ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Nothing on the grill has failed; the controller is showing a state it was put in on purpose. A shutdown cycle keeps the fan running to burn off the last pellets before the grill goes quiet, a keep-warm setting holds the cook box low, a demo mode lights the display without feeding fuel, and a pairing screen waits for a phone to connect. The Series 7 (BH1) guide describes no dial lights. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from DCS's own guidance for Dial light white on its grills. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Check whether the hood lights are on; the light button on the control panel switches the hood lights and the dial lights together. 02 If a burner you meant to light shows white instead of orange, it is not in use: turn that dial to OFF and wait five minutes before relighting. 03 If the dial lights stay dark or never change with a burner lit, check that the grill has power and look at the power supply fuse, and book a visit if the dials still stay dark. ### Cleared? The code is gone from the controller, the grill climbs to its set heat and holds it through a full cook, the pellets keep dropping and the probe readings stay believable, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or after the next rain, mention it when you book. ### What not to do A white dial is not a sign of a problem and needs no reset. Check whether the hood lights are on; the light button on the control panel switches the hood lights and the dial lights together. ### Why are the dials on my DCS grill glowing white when nothing is cooking? The hood lights are probably on: on Series 9 grills one light button switches the hood lights and the dial lights together. Press it again and both go off. ### Why does one DCS dial stay white while the others are orange? Orange marks a burner with gas flowing, so a white dial next to orange ones belongs to a burner that is not in use. If you meant to light it, turn it off, wait five minutes and repeat the push-and-hold lighting steps. ### Do DCS Series 7 grills have white dial lights? No. The lit dials are described in the Series 9 guide for the BE1 heads; the Series 7 BH1 guide has no dial lights.
